Steve's Lunch was an Cleveland eatery icon located on the corner of Lorain and West 50th Street. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week, Steve's only closed twice in almost 6 decades of business. The day JKF was shot and on 9/11. Steve's boasted an endless menu of all kinds of platters and breakfast specials named after local cops, but this place is really known for the HOTDOGS! Steve's dogs are all-beef skinless franks, cooked on a small griddle that sits in the front window. You could get them plain, with mustard, with chili and cheese or better yet a Cleveland Culinary Classsic....."The Polish Boy! The Polish Boy—an awesome concoction unique to Cleveland that consists of a hot dog or kielbasa piled high with fries, cole slaw and barbecue sauce. Steve's tragically burned down in 2015, but lives on as Steve's Diner at 6850 Biddulph Rd and owner Ed Salzgerber recently took over Sal's Diner (3850 Pearl Road) as "Steve's Doghouse"
